Thanks for all. I've been pretty busy working and studying , so I've taken so long to finish this project.

But better late than never. By now the body works quite well but I have not gone to the maximum because I need a spur that I have asked Neil. I look forward to this week.

Hey Dayan
Welcome back! ;-)

Looks like you're the right track to me........ I have a few questions;
What batteries do you own - and what are you planning to run?
What metal spurs and pinions do you own - and what in the photo?
Are you running spools or diffs?

Also, when do you plan go out and run this "Green-Monster"?
Cheers

Post by: dayan on January 05, 2011, 02:39:08 pm
Ok Nic,

My batteries are Turnigy 3600mAh but I'm thinking of buying a Poweredge by their success.

My spur is 60t and 50t pinion are made of steel (manufactured by RW racing).

My setup is spool front and rear differential.

My first speed test this weekend, will try to record a video of the incredible schumacherhulk,;-).

The 9V battery is to power the front and rear lights

Well
Buy the “looks” of it – you’ve got 2-3s packs and 1-2s pack….?
Also was wondering if you have any smaller pinions.

I have learned a lot from you David, especially when it comes to gearing. Which buy the way is way different then I’m going to suggest. So , this is a learning process for everyone – including me.
But if you want my advice – by my calculations – if you go 5s, geared 60s x 42p that equals 186mph (300kph) !!!
Now, math and reality are often different. But – you are certainly NOT short on power.

I recommend 5s because that’s what the MMM esc run the best n. I know it says it will do 6s, and sometimes it can. But in my opinion – you don’t need to go there.

If you cant change the gearing; 60s x 50p on a 3s I’ve got you at 145mph

Not sure if you run into the same thing I did – but , blowing over, seems to be a bigger barrier than anything else. The body you ran before (Ferrari fxx) did Really well! Staying with that might be the way to go. If you stay with the nascar body --- those fins look pretty, but I’m fairly certain they will flutter. You can modify them, kina like this;
http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/4530/img1209po3.jpg
Notice that the fins are mounted on the quarter panel……and the wing.

Looking forward to your test this weekend.
A fellow student

Nic, thank you very much for the tips. We all learn from everyone, but the vast majority have learned a lot about you.

For now not have a 42T pinion,  I have only one 34T but first I will try my load to 3s, 4s and 5s. It is not a good idea to go to 6s as in my TC4 mamba because my motor burned out and do not want to do the same with my new NEU.

I changed my body because the body of ferrari fxx was destroyed in one of my tests with the TC4.

I will try to modify some changes in the body of nascar as you have said and strengthen from within.

Thanks again Nic.

Thank you very much Miguel. Will try to do a good speed if all goes well and weather conditions are right.

Title: Re: Super Schumacher MI3

Thanks Dayan

With a 34 pinion on 5s--- I've got you at ~155mph
And ~170mph with a 50 pinion on 4s

Just what the math says / and some guessing on my part. Good luck and please share the gear/mph results so we can learn.... :-)

Sorry  but I could not do any speed test because has done a lot of wind this weekend and the road is quite dirty.

I try with 3s but I had to abort because the car was very unstable.

I hope this weekend has more luck.

Hi Nic, I've been busy this past week, but in my last test I could not do the maximum speed due to wind and my car went flying into the failure of the aerodynamics.

No parts have broken important, but I thought that this body would be better for my tests.

This week I'll try again and hopefully make a good video.

Greetings

WHAT!!! A new worlds record!

Dayan. You need to come over to the UK speed event. You can't run an unofficial worlds record speed and not come!

If you cant make it lets try and get a set of timing gear over to you and make this speed official.

Best of luck with 5S

Hello, another weekend windy for my test with video, I hope to be patient.

Yes, I had problems with the aerodynamics at first, but after reinforcing the front, side and bottom of the chassis around Velcro, adjust dampers and modify the rear spoiler the car has changed and has become a rocket, but still not is easy to control when you go so fast.

Thanks Nic, the truth is that when you known your car to perfection can you to drive at the limit.

The secret of my velociadad is just more distance than ever (straight over + 600m), aerodynamics, 6-pole motor that having more torque can move larger sprockets, new software for xerun 150a and new battery dinogy where I have noticed an increase in energy that never I had.
