Title: RallyGame
Post by: ziggy12345 on October 01, 2007, 08:22:33 am
Hi

For those of you who donít know I thought I would post a quick explanation of what RallyGame racing is.

Basically its 1/8th onroad racing with buggies converted to run on the road with touring car shells. RallyGame is usually run tarmac of lower quality than a specialist onrad track such as a carpark or unused road but also can have some loose surface sections. Races can be run on gravel and clay tennis courts. This helps with its popularity as tracks are freely available.

Due to its popularity in Europe, mainly Italy and Spain, you can now get specialist RallyGame kits that are a cross between onroad and offroad. Belt driven lowride buggies basically.

Engines sizes are anything as you cant really use all the power so most rallygame cars use a .21 or even a .23. Cars have 2 speeds as they are faster than buggies.

Cars are available in Kit form or RTR. As I said any buggy kit can be used but other rally game cars are available such as

OFNA ULTRA GTP
Kyosho MP7.5
Technokit TK (3 models)

There are also some 1/7th scale cars availale such as the Ofna DM-1.

Tyres are rubber compound on buggy wheels. Tyre choice is the key to winning in Rallygame. PMT tyres from Italy are good and come in different compounds.

At the moment the Rallycross scene in the UK is really big and this is the key to success. There is a huge potential for rallygame if the buggy guys start getting interested

Cheers

So what series do you think we should run at T-racers? I have seen you can get foam tyres for RallyGame cars now so the difference between a converted buggy with rubber tyres and a dedicated rallygame car with foams will be huge.

What do you think?

Cheers

I haven't seen a 100% on road buggy race, usually some sections are off road and others on.
Similiar to the X games rally. This way selection of tires can make or break your race.
I have only ever seen 100% on road when it's been indoors.

From the TV spectators point of view all of these camara's and angles make the WRC super special stages look rubbish!
Some on and some off road, similiar to this.

I ran the Inferno GT at thr track today and it went pretty well. There were a couple of other cars at the track and we had a bit of a race. It showed everybody what the car can do and how it suits the track.

I hope to see others there. If anybody is loooking at getting one the best price is at Ben Racing

Cheers

I'm suprised you don't just run your tenth scale Kyosho if there isn't actually any off road rallying.

The track is a bit bumpy but we can run them, I just fancied a change and also I think Rallygame needs to be promoted more as its the best scale for begginers. Kit cars are only £270 with all the gear

I agree. I think the engine I had was a bit high reving so I'll try a buggy engine next.

Looking forward to the next race

We had the first rallygame race on Sunday and it was awsome! A big thanks to everybody who helped out. Its nice to be involved with a club where everybody is involved with the setting up and organisation in some way.

Im sure as the weather gets better and people improve their cars we are going to some serios racing. I'm looking forward to the dry weather

Cheers
